Optima Legal’s Litigation and Recoveries Department, based in Leeds have successfully retained the CAI ‘Company Accreditation’ status for the fifth year running. 

Benchmarked against the highest industry standards and awarded by professional trade body the Credit Services Association (CSA), the Collection Accreditation Initiative (CAI) demonstrates the continuous professional standard of our litigation and recoveries team members and organisation.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Jackson, who joins the firm’s property team as Principal Solicitor - Property Services.

Previously a Partner in the Real Estate team at top 20 law firm DWF, Charles has over 15 years specialist experience of legal work in the property sector.  He trained at top City firm Berwin Leighton Paisner and also worked for several years at international law firm DLA Piper.

We are pleased to announce that our Litigation Team, based in Leeds, has been confirmed as a finalist at this year’s Credit Today Awards.

Taking place on 14 May, the Credit Today Awards recognise Innovation and Best Practice in the credit Industry. Optima’s team has been nominated in the category of Litigation Team of the Year, a title the team previously won in 2013. 

March 2015

akinika, part of Capita plc has been awarded a contract with Companies House for the recovery of late filling penalties from UK listed companies. The contract also includes the provision of litigation recovery services, which will be delivered by Optima Legal.

The two year contract is due to start in March 2015 and will be managed from akinika’s headquarters in Preston. 

February 2015

Originally anticipated to come into force on 1 March 2015, The Civil Proceedings and Family Proceedings Fees (Amendment) Order 2015 was expected to take effect in April 2015. Following House of Lords approval on 4 March, this date has now been revised and is likely to be as early as Monday 9 March 2015.  The Order will mean yet another increase in court fees payable upon issuing claims to recover money.
